Question / required work
What needs finding out?
Define the observation and context needed to help answer an ecological question.
Why it matters
This training question lets you practise connecting a response to its sources and limits, without treating the exercise as ecological evidence.
What is already known
This is a fictional Field orientation brief, not an assignment at a real place.
What evidence or material is needed
The question, observation method, time, permitted place context and attribution; requested media should retain its source.
Where the work happens
Field. A Field participant can collect requested observations or raise a question for Online identification, research or interpretation. Access and safety remain with the authorised people on the ground.
Your investigation and progress
An exercise response stays on this device. It is not delivered to a reviewer and does not change shared ecological knowledge.
Example · Field Mission
Record ecological observation or intervention in the field.
Real observation or intervention requires appropriate access and a field record. This example is orientation only; it does not authorize activity at any location.
Ready to start
Mission → Field observation / material → review → knowledge or another question.
Field participants can undertake Mission work or ask for Online investigation. An observation or exercise does not by itself establish ecological impact.

A Field participant can collect requested observations or raise a question for Online identification, research or interpretation. Access and safety remain with the authorised people on the ground.
A useful request names the missing information, why it matters and the observation or source that could answer it. Field participants can also request Online identification, research or context. Keep media, attributed observations and evidence distinct.
Field requests and media delivery are not available in this exercise. No observation has been returned through it.
Review, resolution and knowledge returned
Media and an attributed observation can support evidence. Review assesses what they establish and whether further investigation is needed; an observation is not automatically an ecological result.
Review asks whether the response answers the question within its evidence and limitations. A request can be fulfilled while the question remains unresolved. Reviewed observations and evidence can strengthen PE knowledge, help the Field participant or prompt another Mission.
This exercise has no published review or shared-knowledge resolution. Local completion and saved unreviewed responses remain personal progress.
